Your gifts, from small to large, will be put to work right away to support your local commmunity. Many donors wish to set up a fund (our donors name the fund) that will become an everlasting endowment for the community.

Years to Build Up Fund: 5 years
A period of time typically allowed to build up to minimal fund amount.

Minimal Fund Amount: $5,000; originating gift of at least $500
To establish a permanent endowment fund, this amount is necessary to begin grantmaking.

Community Foundation Mission Statement
The mission of the Eastern West Virginia Community Foundation is to improve the quality of life for all people in Eastern West Virginia. The Foundation embraces the concept that people working together can make a difference. We seek a common philosophy whereby people recognize, understand, and act upon the benefits that philanthropy brings to our community.

Our mission is accomplished by building a permanent endowment. We offer maximum flexibility to donors, meet high professional standards, promote effective and efficient grant making, and strengthen charitable organizations in our community.

Funds Offered
Field of Interest Fund
Broadly focused on a specific area of interest, such as youth, conservation, education, health, or other social issue.
Scholarship Fund
Advancing education for students in two- to four-year colleges or universities.
Designated Fund
A fund for a specific charity or church created by a donor.
Agency Fund
An endowment fund created by the leaders of a charity or church.
Unrestricted Named Fund
A fund that helps each community meet changing needs and programs.
Donor Advised Fund
A fund that involves you in grantmaking reccommendations.
